QUESTIONS
What are compatible cartridges?
Compatible cartridges are manufactured
by a third party factory to the original
manufacturer specifications. They
are not recycled units. Each new cartridge
model is carefully researched and
tested.
Are they easy to install?
Each cartridge is installed the same
way that you would install the original
cartridge. We recommended you use
the head cleaning or nozzle cleaning
utility that comes with your printer
to clean the printer heads before
installation - as you should with
any new cartridge.
How can they be so cheap?
Cartridges by Post have a very high
turnover, and purchase direct from
the factory. We also guarantee each
unit sold for your peace of mind.
How long will they last on the shelf?
Our cartridges are fresh from the
factory and have a tested shelf life
of at least 20 months.
Why should I buy a compatible cartridge?
In short to save money. Typically
over the lifetime of a printer you
spend more on cartridges than the
original cost of the printer itself!
Our cartridges will save you typically
between 50% and 75% of this cost but
still produce the same results on
paper. You can save even more money
by purchasing our multi-packs.
Do you have cartridges for my printer?
We carry compatible cartridges for
most popular brands of printers, please
just use the manufacturer links on
the left of this screen to find your
printer model and matching cartridges.
Will using a compatible cartridge
void my warranty?
The printer manufacturers make money
from the high cost of original cartridges
and wish to protect their profits.
They are not however legally allowed
to void your warranty for using compatible
cartridges, and we are not aware of
any customer having a warranty issue
from using our cartridges.
Why don't you carry compatibles for
my Hewlett Packard or Lexmark?
Hewlett Packard and Lexmark printer
cartridges have the printer head built
into the cartridge itself. We therefore
offer factory refilled cartridges
for these models, and again these
offer perfect print quality. The other
option is to purchase one of our cartridge
refill units, and do this job yourself.
Will I get the same quality printing
with a compatible cartridge?
Absolutely. All cartridges and inks
have been tested to ensure the highest
standards - some customers have even
commented that they get better results
from our compatible cartridges!

Who are Cartridges by Post?
Cartridges by Post is a trading name of Emerald Office Solutions Ltd.
Can I order by phone?
Cartridges by Post are happy to take
orders by phone on 0845 458 1022 during
normal working hours (Monday to Friday
9.00am to 5.00pm). Our helpful staff
will be happy to take your full order
and payment details. You can also
fax orders on 01279 620 419
How do I locate a model?
Please find the Manufacturer and Model
using the links on the left of this
page.
How do I place an Order?
Once you have located an item, just
add to your basket using the link
shown. You will then need to click
on the "New Member" button
and register your details for the
first time - although on future visits
you will only need your membership
name and password.
What if I forget my password?
Please e-mail us at support@cartridges-by-post.co.uk
and we will e-mail you a new password.
Please note that you will not be able
to re-register using the same e-mail
address. If you wish to change your
password you must be logged on as
a registered user first, and then
go to the "Your Orders"
link at the top of this page.
What payment methods do you take?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Maestro,
Switch, Delta and Visa affiliated
debit cards. We only debit your card
upon despatch of the goods.
Online payments are managed by HSBC Bank. They process your personal data on our behalf in the context of processing your payment to us and unless it is required to do so by law, your personal data will not be provided to third parties other than the Financial Institutions for the chosen payment method. Either Emerald Office Solutions Ltd or www.emeraldonline.co.uk may appear on your bank or credit card statement.
Please
send cheques, postal orders or bankers
drafts made payable to "Emerald Office Solutions Ltd"
N.B. Cheques may take up to 7 working
days for bank clearance.
Is my credit card information secure?
We know of no cases of credit card
fraud using our shopping system over
the Internet. All credit card numbers
are encrypted in the software when
the order is placed using Thawte certified
encryption. They are only decrypted
after they reach our computer.
Do you offer a guarantee?
Our NO QUIBBLE GUARANTEE, in addition
to your statutory rights, ensures
that if within 30 days you are unhappy
with your purchase for any reason
and provided they are returned in
their original packaging, unused we
will arrange an immediate replacement
or refund. No questions, no arguments,
no problem. Damaged goods must be
notified on receipt and arrangements
made concerning return/replacement.
What about postage and packing?
Postage and Packing for any size of
order is free to any UK address. Outside
the UK we charge £10 carriage.
How and when are my goods shipped?
Cartridges by Post hold large stocks
of products, and aim to despatch same
working day.We will keep you informed
by e-mail of any delays.You can check
the progress of an order using the
links under "Your Order".
This information is only visible to
a logged on member and requires secondary
confirmation of your password. Please
note that depending on the size and
value of your order it may be necessary
to sign for goods on receipt.
What happens if any items are out
of stock?
In the unlikely event we are out of
stock we will contact you by e-mail
to let you know when the goods are
expected to be available.
How long will I wait before receiving
out of stock items?
We receive new stocks from the factory
every few days so you would normally
receive an out of stock item within
7 working days. If you would prefer
not to wait you maintain the option
to cancel the order.
Do you deliver overseas?
We deliver overseas at a charge of
£10 per order.
How do I return goods/cancel an order?
If you need to return any items please
include full order details, wrap securely
and send to Cartridges by Post, Harris House, The Pinnacles, Harlow, Essex CM19 5AN.
We will exchange or refund
as appropriate. You have the right
to cancel any order within 7 working
days of receipt without giving a reason,
please just contact our offices with
your order details - this is subject
to all items being unused and in fully
resaleable condition. Goods should
be returned within 14 days. You are
liable for the cost of returning non-faulty
items. Faulty items should be returned
within a reasonable time, and we will
gladly refund or replace, including
any carriage charges. We recommend
you obtain proof of postage for all
packages, as Cartridges by Post cannot
be held responsible for items lost
in transit. This does not affect your
statutory rights as a consumer.

problems?

We are committed to protecting your
privacy. We will only use the information
that we collect about you lawfully
(in accordance with the Data Protection
Act 1998) and according to the Which?
Web Trader Code of Conduct. We only
collect information about you to process
your order and to provide you with
the best possible service. Cartridges
by Post may wish to contact you in
the future if we have products we
think you would be interested in.
We will not collect sensitive information
about you without your consent. The
information we hold will be accurate
and up to date. If you find any inaccuracies
with the data we hold we will delete
or correct it promptly. The personal
information which we hold will be
held securely in accordance with our
internal security policy, the law
and the Which? Web Trader Code. We
do when necessary use "cookies"
which are stored on your browser.
The information collected in this
way is used to identify you to our
server and to store items in your

We believe that the goods we offer
are of good quality and make every
attempt to offer the most efficient
service we can. However should our
goods or services not live up to your

If your goods have been damaged
in transit please retain the packaging
and inform us immediately giving
as much information as possible,
all damaged or faulty goods will
be replaced by the equivalent product.
We will refund money paid for products
returned to us with seals intact
and in their original packaging.
This does not affect your statutory
rights.
Giving Information to Others
We do not give your personal information
to anyone. If we change our policy
on disclosure to others, we will
inform you and give you the option
of opting out.
All orders are made subject to
acceptance by you of Emerald Office
Solutions Ltd terms and conditions shown.
Fulfillment of the order is subject
to stock availability and acceptance
of your order. Emerald Office Solutions Ltd.
is under no obligation to fulfil
your order.
Emerald Office Solutions Ltd will accept
no amendments to these terms and
